Roses that are Classified as Centifolia
Centifolia roses represent the apex of rose breeding before the introduction of china genes. Centifolias can have flowers quite large in size and ones packed with many petals. Some, such as Fantin Latour are well branched and have a lovely arching form. Others, perhaps, might be more upright and lanky. And there may be one or two that have weak wood incapable of supporting the heavy flowers. Nor are all of them very disease resistant. By mid season, without protection, Fantin Latour can be completely defoliated
