Roses that are Classified as Miniature Roses

Miniature roses are characterized primarily by their small blossoms which are typically an inch across, but they may be smaller or may reach, perhaps, two inches in rare cases. Typically, the frame of a miniature rose is small. Sometimes they are procumbent, scrambling across the ground. Often they are shrub like. Generally, they range in height from one to two feet and are about as wide as they are tall. Many of the most popular miniatures have very neatly formed flowers that are beloved of show exhibitors. If there is a class of roses that pleases gardeners and exhibitors equally well, this might be it; for many minis are quite vigorous, durable, disease resistant, and well suited as garden plants. Those who love warm colors will be pleased as well; the smallness of the plant and flower has made bright colors almost a necessary fixture for minis. A further advantage of minis is that those in cold climates can grow them in pots, then move the pots indoors for the winter.
