Comments Polarstern appears to be exceptionally resistant to blackspot and has a rare ability to resist frigid temperatures. Its flowers are large, have lots of very nicely reflexing petals, and feature just a tinge of yellow. Experience with fragrance of this rose is highly variable. Some rate it "Excellent" other claim there's none.

BTW: Polarstern, Tineke, Karen Blixen, Pascali, Crystalline, Janet Carnochan, Whisper, Pope John Paul II, and John F. Kennedy all vie for the title of "Best White" hybrid tea rose. Each has something subtly different to offer. Polarstern offers cold hardiness not found in many of the others. Of course, there are those who will inist that Frau Karl Druschki - mistakenly labled a hybrid perpetual - is actually the best white hybrid tea rose. It's not fragrant, either.
