Comments Its cerise purple buds fade toward a dusky mauve as they open in bright sun. The central stamens are red and yellow adding a great deal of interest to close-up viewing. The range of colors is interesting and attractive, winning many awards on show benches. The plant has the vigor and branching habit of its seed parent, Playboy, so it always looks good. The flowers have at least a whiff of the fragrance of its poular pollen parent Angel Face.

BTW: How difficult it can be as the child of two famous parents: one will always live in their shadows and fail to bloom to full potential. Such might be the fate of Playgirl. Its petals inspire less passion than Playboy's and its fragrance is somewhat less impressive than Angel Face's. Yet it is still a very pretty, fragrant, and gardenworthy rose.
