Sometimes you look at a rose and think it is perfect in form and color, but you don't know why. So it is with this one. Its high-centered form looks delicate, ample, but not crowded. The rose hales from a day when spraying was just part of growing roses, so if it resists disease, it is an accident of nature. But at least this great-looker is blessed with fragrance.
"Masterpiece" was a moniker attached to roses bred by Boerner and other American breeders in the sixties and seventies when they believed that the shape of the high-centered blossom conformed with ideal.
