Comments Perle d'Or is a cross between a polyantha and a tea rose. From the tea rose it inherited great fragrance and blossoms with high color variability. Rich, soft gold in bud they open and fade to ivory or pink. The process goes more slowly in cool summer climates. The blooms are also pleasantly fragrant. As a polyantha its flowers are small and plentiful, but the plant is remontant. Account on its size vary. Officially it reaches three feet in each direction, but there are accounts of well established plants in warm and sunny places reaching eight ft high. One might argue that it doesn't always wow, but this is one rose of which few people have anything bad to say.
