Comments Its pink high-centered blossoms open from lovely light orange high-centered buds. And its perfume is very strong. Few roses boast more awards. Yet when I saw this rose in a garden it was the least attractive of all roses in that garden. Nor did I detect any of its prizewinning fragrance. Perhaps it was a few days past its prime. Its ARS numbers suggest that the common experience with this rose falls about midway between the expectation set by its awards and image-makers and my own experience of the rose. It is said to be a martyr to blackspot in sultry climates.
