Comments Once, Paprika was a floribunda bred by Tantau that, under good conditions, produces lots of floppy semi-double flowers in a color that resembles the spice in question. Presumably it has disappeared from commerce owing to lack of vigor and a propensity to blackspot.

The name is being recycled by Meilland with a cluster-flowered climbing rose MEIriental. The newer rose may be more reliably bright red. It is certainly bigger, growing to about 8 ft. There is good reason to hope it is more healthy. Expect to find it at big box stores, probably in bloom.
