Comments Oldtimers looked for gold, silver, or copper in the old west. Some still do today. But those who grow this rose in the right place need look no farther than their garden. It produces gold or copper blossoms of great beauty. The problem is, where is this good location? There are a number of fine photos of the rose taken in San Juan Capistrano, California. It seems to grow well in San Jose, California, too. Maybe there is one other place. The blooms are huge and may be beautifully formed, but they are extremely transient. And the repeat cycle is long. This rose is a must-buy for rosaholics living in California. Maybe not so much for others.
