Comments Not a rose for everyone, perhaps, Old Port is not the most vigorous of modern roses; but for those who cannot resist the delicious, deeply cupped mauve blossoms and who also live in warm temperate climates this can be an exceptionally beautiful rose. It is McGredy's version of the fragrant, shrubby, remontant old rose in garden-friendly colors. It's the type that Austin has advocated for several decades. And until Young Lycidas, Austin didn't really have a strong entry in this color and size range.
