Comments As a general rule one does not grow a rugosa rose for the beauty of its individual flowers, Mrs. Anthony Waterer is certainly no exception. It produces crimson flowers that may also render rose, dark pink or sometimes purple. Fragrance is strong and delicious. The frame is large - six feet or more in each direcction - and the rose can very nearly cover the whole thing with flowers. At peak bloom, it's a true spectacle. The plant is extremely cold hardy and vigorous. It is, however, extremely susceptible to mildew.
