Comments Moonstone produces a big, chunky plant that is well clad with dark, glossy, purplish foliage. The shrub is the very picture of vigor. The flowers are, by hybrid tea rose standards, similarly robust, though not objectionably so. They have good substance and a bit of fragrance in the flavor of tea and spice. It can develop and 'blow' pretty quickly in the garden. Always depicted with pink edges the flowers more typically open white. Occasionally warm weather might also cause the bases of the flower to display some rich ivory or buff tones. The rose is widely considered to be healthy and it wins at exhibitions with some regularity.
