Comments Nicely formed high-centered buds open and, perhaps, fade a bit. In some photos the flower is simply rose. In others it is red. In yet others it is somewhere in between - maybe with some subtle orange tones. Mostly it is a deep coral, bordering on scarlet. In any case, Monteauma is on a number of "easy care" rose lists and is recommended for beginners. One rose gardener in Arkansas notes that Montezuma needs some protection from blackspot there, but with simple organic controls, the rose does well. That's about as good as it gets for hybrid tea roses.
