Comments A huge plant with huge, quartered flowers in a creamy white, it's a hybrid of the McCartney rose, R. bracteata. Gertrude Jeckyll loved it for its ability to bloom in cool weather when other roses did not. Its huge size make it suitable for covering the end of a barn, but its vicious thorns make this a risky undertaking. It blosoms from mid summer right through until hard frost, and its silky flowers are irresistable. Foliage is quite resistant to black spot. Definitely not a rose for small gardens.
