Comments Spade-shaped pale yellow or white petals are edged in a dark, rosy pink. The arrangement of petals is very regular and formal and is reminiscent of certain water lilies, camelias and dahlias. Were it not decimated by black spot, this plant would be quite easy to care for. The flowers almost always draw sighs of admiration or recognition. According to Botanica's Roses (p387) "This striking color combination took the rose-buying public by storm when it was introduced and its popularity has not diminished." Perhaps by now it has. But it is certainly worth growing where it will be healthy.

BTW: I grew this rose with Cupcake, Gourmet Popcorn, and Winsome in terrible, dry soil in New Jersey. Cupcake survived, Gourmet Popcorn flourished like a weed. Magic Carousel and Winsome perished from blackspot inside one year. It's a great rose for perfect conditions, and it does better than many hybrid teas or floribundas in some poor conditions; but it is not among the most care-free of the miniatures.
