Comments Here is an old rose that is both tough and beautiful. This rose has been found in cemetaries where it has been growing with abandon for many decades. The shape of the flower clearly sits on the cusp between the delicious fullness of the old rose and the elegant high-centered rose with petals unfurling about the center. There is an effusive charm to the flowers. As is true of so many teas, the color is highly variable ranging from pale pink or pale apricot to a rich cerise sometimes known as Bengal red, with the outer petals often reddening first. Despite its ability to survive high levels of neglect, it would seem that sunny weather and diligent care are rewarded with prettier flowers, even here.
