Comments Will the real Madame Tartas please stand up? We know that the plant produces a shrub that is about three feet in each direction. And that the roses are pink. After that it would seem that every depiction of the flower is inconsistent with every other. At Fabien Ducher roses, there is depicted a pale beauty with a form very much in the old rose mold. At Cooper Historic Garden we get something completely modern. Most photos bear little resemblence to either of these. Madame de Tartas rose figures prominently in the breeding of a host of Tea and early Hybrid Tea roses including the famous and widely distributed Mme Testout. This is one rose you will really have to buy on inspection.
