Comments Lyda rose produces great masses of five petalled flowers whose tips are flushed with pink. It is vigorous and hardy, making a delightful shrub in and out of bloom. It does well even in some shade, producing flowers in frequent flushes throught the season. An offspring of the great climber Francis E Lester, it would be the perfect replacement for Ballerina if it were powerfully fragrant. Paul Barden insists that one ought to add this to the garden despite the fact that it has no scent. Others report that it is very strongly scented.
