Comments This is one of a handful of roses used to make perfume. This one, in fact, takes its name from a region in Bulgaria where it is grown en masse for its fragrance. The blossoms are pink or rose in color and they are packed with petals. The plant grows on a big frame, tolerating some dry soil and frost. Although it is not remontant it is generous with its flowers in season, putting on a really good show in late spring or early summer. It is said to have originated in Turkey or Persia.
