Comments The outer petals are a coral color. As they open they expose petals that are golden. Set against green foliage it's like a glorious sunset on a tropical isle. It's a bright, festive look. The plant endures not just because of its bright color but also because it's "vigorous and easy to grow in inferior soil." Those who dote on old roses or build gardens around the many shades of pink at which the rose excels may find it a little garish.
