Comments Desprez a Fleurs Jaune is its given name; but it is officially registered as Jaune Desprez. Although jaune is the French word for yellow, yellow it is not. Very rarely it is apricot in color, sometimes it is pale apricot, buff, or shell pink. Frequently it is a pale ivory. Sometimes it is pretty nearly white. The flowers are large by noisette standards, definitely suggestive of the shape and size of tea roses, hence the designated class. The plant is quite vigorous and generally disease free. It is slightly less prolific in flowering than the best noisettes, but it does repeat well. As if genuflecting for our benefit, it holds its flowers face-downward so that we can enjoy them more readily from underneath, releasing a strong fruit fragrance at head-height.
