Comments The flowers of hunter are crimson or dark rose, a soft round color that will work wonderfully with the whites, pinks, and mauves that other rugosas tend to render in the garden. The plant is well branched and compact. Sadly, it lacks fragrance. Occasionally its flowers are too heavy for the canes and it sags a bit. Reports of disease resistance are not especially good, either.
