Comments In bud, the large, perfectly formed, fragrant flowers may be an orange or even a tawny russet shade. Or they may be closer to a salmon shade of pink. As they open, the yellow pigment begins to fade and the petals blush a little darker at the tips as they reflex. The array of effects that might be observed as all this transpires is dazzling. It's the kind of rose one might choose if one wished to be surprised by a flower's color. Most of the manifestations are pretty; some are spectacular. Considering that none of its ancestors are resistant to blackspot, it may not be a good rose for hot and muggy climates.
