Bearing elegant, large white flowers sometimes suggestive of saucer magnolias, this vigorous shrub is considered by many to be the best of the white hybrid tea roses. Its flowers large size, and the vigor and health of the plant have made it one of the most popular roses for the first half of the twentieth century. Its chief drawback is the lack of fragrance. The petals are thin, and can ball in damp weather; and the plant can suffer from mildew.
BTW: Officially Frau Karl Druschki it is classed as a hybrid perpetual; but one of its parents is a hybrid tea, and its form in wood and flower is of a prototypical hybrid tea.
