Comments At the height of bloom, an established plant is a riot of color. The bright scarlet flowers are single and borne generously on a healthy, procumbent plant. Bright yellow stamens lie at the center of the flowers, setting them alight. The effect is amplified by a white blotch near the center of the blossom, characteristic of both named grandparents. All this is framed by plentiful, dark green, glossy foliage. As must be the case for groundcovers it is reasonably tolerant of shade and poor soil. In light of its attributes, this is best thought of as a landscape plant.
