Comments Elysium was, according to first millennium BC Greek mythology, a place where people lived after death. And they did so in eternal bliss. Evidently the color of this floribunda, with its warmly colored petals that could range from candy pink to pale apricot to salmon pleased Kordes immensely. Perhaps, though, the name created impossible expectations for the rose. Or perhaps it obviously failed to live up to them.

BTW: Kordes has introduced two floribundas in roughly the same color range by this name: the former has a touch of yellow pigment; the latter a little less. Neither has attracted much attention.
