Comments It would be unthinkable to name a rose "Dolly Parton" were it not a vibrant, bright, effusive color. And it would be scandalous to use the name for a rose that does not smell good or that did not have really big blossoms. Whether the rose thrives in horrid, hot, humid summers is less important than whether it does great in L.A. Dolly Parton is a well-named rose on all counts. The buds are large and high centered, and the color of the blossom is a dark coral that can sometimes look vermilion, scarlet, or crimson. Scent is said to be very strong. It is sold on the east coast, it gets better than average ARS ratings, and it appears in several lists as a disease resistant rose, so it may be well suited to growing in all but the most muggy summer areas.
