Comments Apple-scented coral blossoms fade quickly to a candy pink on a tough shrub that works even in shady conditions. It can be treated as a shrub or as a short climber for a pillar. This is one of a great host of climbing roses bred from New Dawn. The idea, of course, was to reproduce that rose's easy-care characteristics in roses of richer colors. It is fair to say that Boerner succeeded here. Aloha is just about as good a plant as its pollen parent, and it is a pleasing, festive color. BTW. Aloha is a parent to David Austin's rose Abe Darby, and the family resemblence is strong.
