Comments Its perfect high-centered blossoms are shaped just like hybrid tea roses, and they are only just a little smaller. They are also borne on an upright but well branched shrub: if this rose were bred in California it would probably be registered as a grandiflora. It has evidently inherited a goodly measure of Silver Jubilee's iron-clad constitution, which earned it the AARS award.

BTW: I have seen this rose growing in the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden where it is completely awe inspiring. I also saw it some time later at Somerset, NJ where it's flowers were pretty, but it was spindly and a little shy of flowering. I have since planted it in Arizona on multiflora rootstock and can find nothing bad to say about it here. It does not grow quickly, but that seems to be because it is so busy blooming. Good care is indicated.
