Comments There is a great bed of these in the park that surrounds Roseraie de l'Hay. When they are at their peak, the roses produce a huge number of delicious, dark apricot colored roses that really do remind one of cognac. We infer from its solidly below-average ARS rating that a lot of people tried this rose and were disappointed. Either it is a rose that needs a great deal of attention in terms of fertilizing and spraying, or it is one that grows well only under the most perfect of conditions. But where it is well grown it is stunning. It is said that the Elizabeth II found the pedigree of this rose mildly amusing.
