Comments Carefree Beauty grows as a vigorous shrub, covering itself in bubblegum pink blossoms in spring. It is very cold hardy, easily surviving the worst of Iowa's winter weather. It also shrugs off blistering heat combined with wicked humidity of midwestern summers. When it blooms it can produce a huge number of rosy pink flowers, almost covering the large shrub. One would not choose it to put in a bed. But it might do very nicely at the back of a border, against a fence, or as a hedge. Nice hips appear in the fall.
