Comments Broadway is highly variable. Sometimes its new, high centered buds will begin unfurling and the combination of scarlet, coral, yellow, pink, and white is so perfectly choreographed that it is irresistible. At other times the colors look garish or washed out or muddled or cacophonous. In light of its high variability, it might be wise to tuck it into a corner where one need not look at it if it is ugly, but where one can draw near when it looks good. Its greatest weakness, perhaps, is that it is definitely less cold hardy than most hybrid teas. It grows very well in the zone 6b Colonial Park Garden in Somerset NJ; but that may be near the edge of its reliable range.
