Comments The heritage of this rose is clouded in mystery; rosarians disagree on whether this is actually one of several other roses. Some propose it is Fantin Latour which seems unlikely judging from the shape and color of the flowers. Others suggest it may be Bourbon Queen whose flowers match well in shape and color, if not in fragrance. Celine was once cultivated as a rootstock and would have disappeared entirely were it not for that fact. Still, some may grow it just to sniff the strong clove scent of its flowers. As a bourbon it may not be happy in sultry summer areas.
