Comments Considered by some Old Garden Rose lovers to be "the most perfect white rose ever raised," according to Sterling Macoboy in the Ultimate Rose Book. Austin praises the camellia-like order of the white petals. Others praise the regularity with which it blooms. Still others are impressed by the number of golfball sized flowers it produces. All praise its strong fragrance. All of these attributes are laudable. But it is also true that the petals are thin and ball in dampish weather. And that the rose needs protection from blackspot. The rose is a rare beauty; but it needs high culture and dry summer air.
