Comments Its buds form deep cups in a dark pink that can approach crimson or deep mauve. They open into cupped pink flowers packed with petals. The plant can be very vertical, but it is also well branched. Fragrance is strong. There is not much repeat-flowering.

BTW: There is a resurgence of interest in Geschwind's roses. He bred roses at the turn of the twentieth century, with the goal of bringing the beauty of the French hybrids to places with cold (USDA zone 4) weather. He made particular use of R. setigera and R. multiflora and his roses are tough and foliferous. Especially in short season locations they have much to recommend them.
