Comments Distant Drums creates high centered flowers with a different look. The petals near the center are a tawny mix or orange and mauve. The outer petals are distinctly but not strongly mauve. That's the way its marketing photo depicts it; but the color can range from cool pink through soft apricot to a very dusky and subtle coral and gold blend. One would grow this rose, perhaps, more because of its unusual look than because of its great beauty. The plant is rugged: cold hardy, disease resistant, and vigorous.
