Comments The red of Benjamin Britten is a rare one for a rose; at its darkest it is just barely a soft scarlet or vermilion. But it can be much softer in color - soft coral or a warm shade of rose. The flowers are cupped, full of petals, and redolent of fruity wine. Densely branched and foliated, it develops into a more compact shrub than some early English Roses. And it has a good health record.
