Comments It is usual for the front of the petal of a bicolor rose to be a dark shade, while the reverse is a light shade. Its a tradition that goes all the way back to rosa foetida bicolor. About Face turns this traditon around; the face of the petal is a medium or pale orange, the reverse is a slightly darker orange, copper, or occasionally russet. The blooms rarely reach four inches across, and the form is nothing to write home about. It is not always a vigorous grower and bloomer in coolish climates; but those who grow it on the in warm sunny climates of Texas and California can be quite enthusiastic about it. In good conditions, it repeats quickly and is generous with its flowers.
