Comments Peter Lambert bred roses that were vigorous to a fault, well branched, and generous with their blooms; and Gruss an Zabern is expmplary of these qualities. I have seen it grown once - at Roseraie de l'Hay where it was meticulously trained on a lattice so that virtually every square of the lattice had some leaf or blossom associated with it. It seems to me that not many climbers or ramblers could pull that of with such aplomb.
