Comments "A triumph of beauty over common sense," wrote Stirling Macoboy of this rose. Everyone agrees that it is beautiful. And nearlhy everyone agrees that it is neither disease-free nor very vigorous; ARS members rate it a low 5.1. Thats about as low as it gets for roses in circulation. But if one falls in love with its perfect shade of soft gold held against dark bronze new foliage, and if one lives where mildew, blackspot, chilly weather, and poor soil are unimaginable, then this might be the perfect rose. Probably the climbing sport is better, of which Botanica's Roses writes (interestingly) that it has good disease resistance and vigorous growth, it was found at Anderson Nurseries in UK in 1985.
