Comments Growing low to the ground as is suggested by its name, Bassino is covered with very glossy green foliage that clearly shows some wichurana heritage. The flowers are red and are accented by yellow stamens. They open bright scarlet and fade a bit toward coral as they age. At the peak of bloom the plant can be nearly covered in these single flowers. Hips follow. Gardeners in coolish summer season places are most likely to be wowed by this groundcover. In hotter locations it might do best with a touch of PM shade.
