Comments In cold hardiness and in overall appearance this rose is much more closely allied to Tea roses than it is to Hybrid teas. It has a somewhat spreading habit, it has a softness of color and form typical of tea roses. And it does not handle frost well. Its high-centered flowers range from a pale apricot of buff in spring to a deep, rich yellow or apricot color in warmer weather. Petals scroll coyly away from the central bud. It's a lovely picture. The rose can reach 8 feet in height, making the fact that the flowers are held on wiry stems and face out and down a valuable feature in viewing them. Several references compare it favorably to Lady Hillingdon. Fragrance is moderate.
