Comments It's the first climber to incorporate the scarlet pigment pelargondin which entered rose breeding through Independence. Unfortunately, two years later Danse des Sylphes was introduced and this rose fell out of circulation. Interestingly, neither this rose nor Sylphes is distributed on this side of the Atlantic, which is a shame since Sylphes in full bloom on an arch is one of the most memorable sites at Roseraie de l'Hay. But that's another rose, another story.
