Comments This rose will grow in even the most impoverished of soils, making it a special asset in many gardens. Add to this the fact that it bears deliciously warm candy-pink flowers with equally delicious scent, and you have a rose of considerable charm and merit. The rose is one of several excellent cultivars brought to Great Britain by Nancy Lindsay; this one in Elboef Normandy. BTW: There is a considerable amount of dissent among rosarians about the breeding of this rose. Most agree that it fits well enough in the alba camp. Many agree that it has some affinity with the damasks. Some claim that it must have some other heritage because its fragrance is different from that of these roses. In any case, it's a rose that thrives in tough conditions for decades without any special care.
