Comments Sarabande is one of Meilland's enduring landscape roses. That means it has three qualities: it is vigorous, it is disease resistant, and it blooms in profusion making a great wash of color. The flowers are a searing scarlet/vermilion red when they open. They can, however, fade in hot sun to a rather pale shade of pink that doesn't look very good. In blistering hot climates, it may be best given a few hours of afternoon shade. There is also a climbing version.
