Comments The foliage of this plant produces a strong, delicious apple scent when crushed. This scent can fill a garden on a moist, still, spring morning. The plant is vigorous and disease-free, producing pink flowers and forming red hips. It will grow in almost full shade, but it will not flower there. It's not easy to recommend this rose for its flowers, but it is easy to recommend it for its fragrant, shrubby presence at the edge of a field or woodland.
