Comments Accounts of fragrance in this rose vary, but it is fragrant. It is also a simple, clear shade of pink in an old rose form. And it repeats. At first blush it's a common sort of thing, but its popularity suggests a broad set of strengths. BTW: Merveille de Lyon - a white sport of Baroness Rothschild - made it into my Arizona garden before the Baronness and during this summer's generous monsoons, it was the only rose of two hundred cultivars to suffer both black spot and mildew infections, though it was not as affected by mildew as Zepherine Drouhin.
