Stars and Stripes was the first striped mini released by Moore just in time of America's bicentennial in 1976. It inherited its stripes from one of two good-looking striped old roses, Ferdinand Pichard.
As a mini, this rose did not strike me as being exceptionally small - in fact it was not until I looked up its information that I realized it was a mini. (My how the size of 'large flowered' roses has shrunk in the last several decades!) ARS members rate this rose 7.6. |
