Scarlet Knight

Low Roses | Bushes | Shrubs | Climbers
Photo of Rose Scarlet Knight Of the large-flowered modern roses, there are precious few capable of carrying their weight through the growing season. Here shown is Scarlet Knight thirteen months after being planted in my own garden. It is foliferous, well foliaged, well branched, vigorous, and quite disease resistant. The blossoms may be three or even four inches across - quite large considering their plentitude.

ARS members rate Scarlet Knight 7.2 which, for a rose that may never make it to a show bench, is quite a good rating. The red is solidly on the crimson side of the spectrum, so it never looks garish. And new growth is an attractive bronze.
