In 1993 the Royal Horticultural Society awarded this rose an award of garden merit - along with a few dozen other roses of distinction. And a year earlier it won the RNRS James Mason award. The flowers are very large and fragrant. They are produced on a plant with much glossy foliage.
It's not a popular rose in the US and ARS members give it just 7.1. It looks like it might be worth growing in cooler parts of the US - especially among Hamlet fans. |
